Staff Profile
Darylyn Walley – Employment Pathway Advisor, Tom Price

Tell us about yourself

I am both Yammatji from my mum’s side and Nyikina from my dad’s side.

Where are you from?

I was born in Derby and my family and I moved to Tom Price when I was 10 years old. I have lived here ever since, besides a 3-year move to Karratha in between.

What are your interests?

I love playing softball, watching AFL, fishing and camping.

What is your role at AAC?

I am an Employment Pathway Advisor here at AAC, I have worked here for a month now and have liked the challenges that come with the day to day activities, such as assisting job seekers to and from the AAC office to do courses, appointments and learning how to do the administration work. I also enjoy working with the Containers for Change workers next door, it feels like having an extended family at work.

What are your future goals?

My goals for the future is to save up $20,000 by this time next year, or enough to put down a deposit on my own home. I also want to be able to save up an extra couple thousand to help refurbish my grandparents’ house down in Geraldton.

What would be your perfect day outside of work?

Being with my family out fishing/ shooting for the day, or having a movie marathon all day with movie-related snacks and good company.

What are you most proud of?

Seeing my baby sister grow and play sports with me, and winning the Junior rookie of the year for Softball, MVP for women’s footy her in Tom Price and MVP for her grand final game for netball.
