It has been a very busy month for AAC Newman – here are just some of the things AAC have been up to over the past few weeks:
AAC recently met up for a collaboration with Roy Hill. Roy Hill delivered some awesome food packages and health and beauty packages which were gifted out to our job seekers who attended activities in Newman. A lot of our job seekers are very camera shy, but we managed to capture the exchange between Ashburton and Roy Hill. Thank you so much to Roy Hill for your donation – our job seekers really appreciated the offer.
AAC has also been collaborating with Martu Farm and women’s refuge center to get our mutual job seekers work ready. The goal is to assist job seekers with gaining their licenses and working on achieving their log book hours.
AAC want to congratulate Keisha who worked very hard to get her P license – Keisha is very excited by her achievement. We have also had two job seekers achieve their required log book hours which is fantastic.
EEO and Activities Coordinator travelled out to Western Desert Communities Punmu, Kunawarritji and Nullagine with the Justice team to provide assistance to our job seekers who needed Birth certificates provided for them.
The following week our Regional Manager and Outreach EPA visited Parnngurr and Jigalong. It was an amazing experience capturing employment, and community maintenance, tailored assistance and all the fun and creative activities that is currently happening.
Last but not least we are saddened but proud to announce that we have held our last movie night collaboration with Newman futures, The movie nights have had the highest attendance of all of our community events.
Feedback from our team was how privileged they were to be apart of this. Seeing and hearing our job seekers mention “this is Ashburton” filled the spirits of our team.
