AAC partnered with Cartec Training to celebrate the graduation of six job seekers and one local participant, all the ladies completed a certificate III in Hospitality the ladies overcome many obstacles during their 13 weeks of training this included Covid, school holiday break and a spat of very wet weather where our Harwell site became flooded.
The ladies under the guidance and training from Katrina Zuzic the CEO of Cartec successfully completed the entire training. The ladies spent a day at Auski Road House undertaking one of their practical components in House Keeping, Auski Road House was very impressed with the ladies and the work that they performed, they invited all the ladies if they were looking for work with accommodation then to feel free to apply to Auski Road House for a paid employment position.
Local Moore River Coffee Van allowed the ladies to come and train using their coffee machine and to learn the art of being a Barista and what it takes to make a great cup of coffee. The graduation was held within the Lotteries House conference room, the room was transformed with celebration balloons, styled chairs, a fully catered lunch by Harbor Café, including some yummy deserts and fruit platters.
Tess from the local South Hedland Chamber of Commerce Hub spoke and congratulated the ladies on their achievement. Laureen from the Well Women’s Centre also was asked as a guest speaker and presented each lady with a personal invite to attend a morning at the Well Women’s Centre. Kartina Zuzic delivered a heartfelt speech to the ladies on how incredibly proud she was that they had all passed and that she had enjoyed her time with them over the 13 weeks.
The ladies received their qualification certificate, plus a personal gift from AAC along with an acknowledgement of all their success. The Regional Manager Michelle Kivits officiated the event. A number of the ladies family members attended the event in support of their achievement. Everyone who attended said that it was a great morning.
