Mallard Contracting’s contract is to supply and install security doors and screens into BHP-owned properties in South Hedland.

The roles we have on offer will be for trades assistants. They will be required to assist the carpenters to install the doors and windows.

There will be a degree of manual handling, but nothing really heavy. Just lots of lifting the screens onto trolleys in our laydown area and on site and into the correct location at each property.

we are seeking employees who can engage for the full day, which is from 6.00am to 5.30pm. The 6am start is vital for all information to be delivered at the daily pre-start meeting. We are able to accommodate a shorter day if the individual is not used to such long working hours.

Requirements:

  • to hold a Construction White Card. Would your team be able to assist with this please?
  • Mallard will also send through a multitude of inductions that are a requirement of everyone working for BHP and they may need assistance to complete these.
  • to complete a medical check to ensure we are not placing them into a role they are not physically able to manage. This test will include mandatory drug and alcohol testing and will be able to be done in Pt Hedland.
  • a head and shoulders photo
  • and if possible verification of ID, preferably a driver’s license but not mandatory. As long as it is a Govt-issued photo ID.
  • Police Clearence

Mallard’s Vision Statement is; ‘We will not be judged by how much money we make, but by how many lives we change forever’. Mallard believes we can do this by creating economic independence for as many Aboriginal people as possible. Through providing entry level employment opportunities and ongoing training, this is the first step to that independence.
