JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are currently seeking candidate to fill a Residential Care Worker position.
Duties consist of but not limited to:
- Provide therapeutic residential care to groups and individual children and young people
- Create and maintain a safe and caring environment for children and young people, including taking physical control when necessary, according to specified standards
- Follow up on outstanding tasks and contribute towards identified outcomes for children and young people
- Provide accurate written case notes and recording of activities and critical incidents to assist with the record keeping and meet statutory requirements
- Liaise with Department, government and non-government agencies and family members when appropriate or required
- Undertake and organise housekeeping and maintenance to ensure a positive and safe physical environment
REQUIRED:
- National Police Clearance
- Working With Children Check
- C Class or CA Class license
- Senior First Aid certificate
- Willing to obtain Criminal Record & Departmental checks
- Assessed medical fitness
- Commitment to shift work, including working Public Holidays and weekends
- Certificate III and Certificate IV in Community Services or equivalent experience in working with or caring for troubled children and young people who have experienced trauma
