JOB DESCRIPTION:
Bloodwood Tree Association are seeking applicants for a Community Connect Worker (Patrol Officer) position. The Community Connect team are out on patrol from 1:00pm until 7.00pm from Monday to Saturday, providing an invaluable service to the South Hedland Community by assisting those who are intoxicated, hurt, in violent situations, out on the street and generally at-risk, taking them to a safer place.
The Community Connect Worker (Patrol Officer) aims to improve community safety and reduce community consequences of alcohol and other drugs (AOD) by assisting Indigenous people in public places who are AOD affected or otherwise ‘at-risk’ of harm.
REQUIREMENTS:
– Confidence and capability of handling difficult situations
– Assertive when it comes to enforcing procedure and bus rules such as bag searches, confiscation of alcohol, dismissing aggressive clients off the bus etc.
– Female preferred (The male positions are already filled)
– Physically fit and able to assist with wheelchairs, groceries, washing/detailing of company vehicles etc.

– Communication skills
– Knowledge of community is desirable
– ATSI identified
– Driver’s license beneficial
