Empowering Aboriginal Job Seekers & Strengthening Pilbara Workforces

We are committed to creating meaningful opportunities that empower Aboriginal people across the Pilbara. Through employment, enterprise growth, and tailored education and training programs, we support individuals in building brighter futures while helping local businesses thrive.

AAC connect job seekers from remote communities with paid employment opportunities. These placements serve as a pathway to long-term employment, with job seekers working up to 20 hours per week or 40 hours flexibly over a fortnight, depending on their capacity and the employer’s needs.

Communities and Businesses may explore Remote Jobs and Economic Development (RJED) funding through NIAA to support job creation. Through strong employer partnerships and tailored support, AAC is building a skilled, job-ready workforce that drives lasting change across the Pilbara.

Builds strong relationships with employers to identify ongoing job opportunities, training, and potential work-ready pathways.

To achieve this, AAC:

  • Offers opportunities to job seekers for vocational and non-vocational training.
  • Regularly assesses job seekers to connect them with the right opportunities.
  • Supports employers throughout the first 26 weeks of a job seeker’s employment.

Through these efforts, AAC is shaping a more skilled, confident, and job-ready workforce, creating lasting benefits for job seekers, businesses, and communities across the Pilbara.

LEARN 2 DRIVE

AAC provides culturally appropriate services and activities while building strong relationships with job seekers to help them overcome employment barriers. Support in obtaining a driver’s Licence is often the first step in overcoming a major barrier. It gives the jobseeker the confidence to tackle other barriers like suspended licenses, fostering greater independence and employability across the region.

Building on the success of the Learn 2 Drive program launched in 2022, AAC has taken the next step in empowering job seekers by introducing the AAC Truck Driving Academy. Supported by the DAEP grant and partnering with DOT, these initiatives provide career opportunities, practical experience, and long-term employment, benefiting job seekers and employers.

AAC: More Than Job Placement — We Build Futures

AAC is committed to more than filling roles — we’re here to help build sustainable careers and strong, capable workforces to meet the growing employment needs of the Pilbara region. Through our Remote Employment Services (CDP), job seekers gain real-world skills and hands-on experience tailored to the specific demands of industries in the Pilbara. But our support doesn’t stop at hiring. We walk alongside job seekers and employers with ongoing mentoring and post-placement assistance to ensure long-term success, stability, and growth for everyone involved.
