Women’s Hub at Yandeyarra Growing Strong

A quiet but powerful transformation is taking place at the Women’s Hub in Yandeyarra Community. Since activities commenced on 1 July 2026, the women involved have shown commitment, pride and steady progress as they work together to improve the outdoor space, strengthen practical skills and contribute to a welcoming community place for local women and families.

Building Skills, Confidence and Community Pride

As part of the program, AAC supports participants with PPE, onboarding information and practical resources so they can take part safely and confidently in paid positions. This support helps create an inclusive environment where participants can build confidence, work together and contribute meaningfully to the project.

Hands-on Progress at the Women’s Hub

The women have been actively involved in upgrading and beautifying the outdoor area of the Yandeyarra Women’s Hub. Activities have focused on establishing and maintaining garden spaces, improving the presentation of the surrounding area and supporting broader community improvement. Their consistent involvement has helped create a more welcoming, practical and positive space for the community.

Supported by Weekly Mentoring

AAC Community Mentor Mena Graham has continued to visit Yandeyarra Community on a weekly basis, providing mentoring, supervision, guidance and encouragement throughout the project. This regular support has helped participants stay engaged, build confidence and continue working towards the project goals in a supportive and culturally safe way.

The progress being made at the Women’s Hub is a great example of what can be achieved when community-led activity, practical learning and ongoing mentoring come together. The participants continue to show a positive attitude, willingness to learn and strong commitment to improving community facilities. Their contribution is helping strengthen skills, confidence, teamwork and workplace readiness, while also creating a lasting benefit for the Yandeyarra community.
