On the 11th and 12th of August 2025, a group of motivated TPRJ team members took a significant step toward employment success by completing forklift training, thanks to a collaborative initiative led by Employment Training Solutions and AAC. This hands-on, practical program is part of a broader effort to help local job seekers gain in demand skills that align with current workforce needs across industries such as warehousing, logistics, manufacturing, and construction.
Among those who completed the program, John, Christopher, and Matthew are especially noteworthy. All three individuals successfully earned their forklift licenses despite facing personal barriers. Matthew’s determination to overcome technological challenges, along with John’s and Christopher’s dedication to the program, are powerful examples of the life-changing opportunities that programs like this can provide.
What is the TPRJ Team?
The TPRJ Team is a 13-week program developed by AAC to help job seekers gain real-world experience, structure, and confidence as they prepare for long-term employment. The program exposes participants to the routines and expectations of working life, while offering them opportunities to gain valuable industry tickets and upskill in ways that improve their job readiness.
Throughout the program, participants work on community-based projects, including gardening and other hands-on initiatives, which not only build practical skills but also contribute positively to the local area. These experiences help reinforce a strong work ethic, teamwork, and a sense of community pride.
