Nora Cooke and Neil Bidu recently visited Roebourne Prison as representatives of Hedland Aboriginal Strong Leaders, with AAC Strategic Initiatives Manager Michelle Kivits driving them through as part of the program AAC delivers in the prison. The visit was both productive and heartfelt, with genuine connection shared with those from Hedland Country.
While in Roebourne, Michelle also took the opportunity to stop at a local nursery to purchase plants for the Yandeyarra Women’s Centre garden planter boxes. They picked up a great selection, including tomatoes, cabbages, lettuces and carrots, ready for planting next week.
It was a positive day that combined meaningful engagement with practical support for another community project.
