This month, Pilbara Community Legal Services (PCLS) visited Ashburton Aboriginal Corporation (AAC) in Tom Price & South Hedland, providing valuable, face-to-face support services directly to local job seekers.
Assisting Job Seekers to Overcome Barriers
During the visit, several job seekers attended the session and were able to access a range of PCLS services designed to reduce barriers to employment and everyday life. One job seeker, Tyrone, received assistance with the driver licence process, helping them take an important step towards improved mobility and increased employment opportunities.
In addition, Margarete and Larraine were supported with extraordinary driver’s licence matters as well as tax assistance, addressing complex issues that can often delay progress and create additional stress for individuals.

The visit highlighted the positive impact of bringing essential legal and practical services directly into the community. By working closely with Ashburton Aboriginal Corporation, PCLS continues to play an important role in supporting job seekers to navigate administrative and legal processes that can otherwise feel overwhelming.
