Ashburton Aboriginal Corporation jobseekers were recently invited to an exciting open day at North Regional TAFE’s Pundulmurra Campus in South Hedland. The event offered participants a valuable opportunity to meet Training Managers Dawn and Suellen, explore educational pathways, and get a firsthand look at the programs available across a wide range of industries.

Attendees were able to speak directly with lecturers from fields such as hospitality, nursing and care, automotive, electrical, heavy vehicles, and high-risk industries. Guided campus tours gave jobseekers a clear understanding of the facilities, training opportunities, and future career prospects tied to each course.

The experience didn’t end there—participants also visited the on-site Jobs and Skills Centre, where JC provided information on support services available to help locals pursue employment and training. Everyone left the day with a TAFE course calendar and a Jobs and Skills flyer to support their next steps.

This open day highlighted the strong collaboration between AAC and North Regional TAFE in empowering jobseekers and fostering education within the community. By opening doors to practical training and career development, the event gave attendees a real sense of possibility for their future.
