AAC Roebourne hosted a community BBQ connecting jobseekers with local employers, sparking new partnerships, and opening pathways employment opportunities.

On 18 October 2025, the AAC Roebourne office came together in true community spirit, with new and existing staff working side by side to host a welcoming BBQ for jobseekers and future employers. This wasn’t just about sharing a meal—it was about creating a space where people could connect, yarn, and build trust. The event highlighted AAC’s commitment to breaking down barriers and showing that employment opportunities are possible, even when challenges exist.

The BBQ welcomed representatives from Yurra-Garli JV Project, NYFL, EPIC, Jobs and Skills, NBAC Yurra, and Monadelphous, alongside local jobseekers eager to learn about upcoming roles. The relaxed setting allowed for genuine conversations, where job seekers could ask questions, explore options, and gain confidence about their future. One of the most exciting outcomes was the connection made with the Yurra-Garli JV Project, which has already led to job placements for some of our job seekers. These success stories highlight the power of community-driven events and AAC’s commitment to working closely with local partners to create real employment pathways.
