The Yandeyarra Women’s Centre is undergoing a fantastic transformation! With the support of AAC, the hardworking Yandeyarra Ladies are bringing their vision to life, creating a more welcoming and vibrant space for the community.
The project began with a huge clean-up. Armed with high-pressure sprayers, cloths, and buckets, the ladies got to work, scrubbing and refreshing every corner of the centre. Their first major task was revamping the toilet area to make it as inviting as the rest of the facility.
Next, they focused on the main area, choosing a beautiful blue-green shade for the feature wall, paired with a soft sandy white for the others. The result? A calm and welcoming space for everyone. Working as a team, some ladies painted the lower sections while others tackled the higher areas, showing great teamwork and dedication.
Last week, the Yandeyarra Women’s Centre welcomed visitors from the Hedland Women’s Refuge. They kindly donated arts and crafts supplies, children’s toys, and bedding. The ladies were able to take what they needed for themselves and their families, and anything left over will be passed on to other communities in need.
Pictured are Nina, Ami, Rena, Pauline, and Katie, alongside Jen and Kellie from AAC, as well as Mena and LuLu from the Women’s Refuge. Their combined efforts are making a real difference, proving that teamwork and generosity can create something truly special.
Stay tuned for more updates on this inspiring project!
