AAC Tom Price asked our Job Seekers about their interest in the four-day Digital Literacy course the Tom Price campus offered in November. Initial interest was strong, including from a potential job seeker not yet on our caseload. Our team assigned someone to coordinate registrations and successfully enrolled everyone, even assisting one participant in recovering their lost USI number after a house fire. A job seeker from Paraburdoo attended daily, sharing amazing feedback about her positive experience.
11–14 Nov, Tom Price Campus (North Regional TAFE)
On the first day, our team accompanied attendees to TAFE and confirmed with the trainer that late starters or those joining from day two onwards would be welcome. The TAFE team was supportive and created a comfortable environment for everyone. Two late arrivals and one participant joining on day two caught up seamlessly.
Job Seeker Feedback
Feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive. They found the course well-explained and expressed a keen interest in attending more TAFE courses in the future. One job seeker from Paraburdoo, who initially believed it was a two-day course, enjoyed it so much that she arranged external support to attend all four days—a brilliant outcome!
2025 TAFE Calendar Offerings
We have requested regular updates from TAFE on approved courses for 2025 to help us seek expressions of interest and expand training options. Upcoming courses that may appeal to our cohort include:
- Barista Course (Tom Price, May 2025)
- Cert III in Business (Administration)
- Cert I in Conservation & Ecosystem Management
- Cert I & II in Leadership
Our Tom Price collaboration and partnership with TAFE will be strengthened and reinforced now that we have a recent and common connection with the back-of-house and delivery teams. This can only signal wonderfully positive 2025 upskilling and training outcomes for our Job Seekers, leading to successful interviews and long-term job opportunities.
