Our newest staff member, Mena, joined our Friday monthly BBQ Connect at Throssell Road. Held once a month, BBQ Connect brings together job seekers, employers and community representatives in a relaxed and welcoming environment. It gives people the chance to meet face to face, have real conversations, build relationships and learn more about the support and opportunities available in the community.
Barry Harrison, Facilities Manager at Mirnutharntu Maya, was also in attendance, highlighting the importance of local services being part of these conversations. Mirnutharntu Maya is dedicated to providing safe, affordable and supportive accommodation for Aboriginal people pursuing study, training and employment opportunities in and around South Hedland and Port Hedland.
For our work ready job seekers, BBQ Connect helps build confidence, strengthen connections and create pathways toward employment by making introductions in a comfortable setting. It also plays an important role in bringing services and community together, helping everyone stay connected, informed and supported.
