Aboriginal Family Legal Services Supporting Ready2Work Participants

Building strong foundations for employment is about more than practical work skills. As part of the Hedland Ready2Work Program, participants recently attended an information session delivered by Aboriginal Family Legal Services (AFLS), providing valuable information about the services and support available to Aboriginal people and their families.

Connecting Participants with Support Services

As part of the Building Foundations Pathway, participants were introduced to a range of support services designed to help individuals and families navigate challenges and access assistance when needed. The Aboriginal Family Legal Services representative outlined the services available and provided information on how participants can access support in the future.

The workshop gave participants the opportunity to learn more about available community resources while asking questions in a safe and supportive environment. Increasing awareness of support services helps participants feel more informed, connected and confident as they progress through their employment and training journey.

Strengthening Community Partnerships

Ashburton Aboriginal Corporation (AAC) values working alongside organisations such as Aboriginal Family Legal Services to ensure participants have access to holistic support throughout their pathway to employment. By bringing community services directly into the program, participants can build stronger connections with organisations that may assist them both now and into the future.

The Aboriginal Family Legal Services workshop was a valuable addition to the Hedland Ready2Work Program, helping participants better understand the support available within their community. Through partnerships like these, AAC continues to support participants to build confidence, strengthen wellbeing and prepare for future employment and training opportunities.
