Ashburton Aboriginal Corporation Employment Services Team proudly participated in the Tom Price Senior High School Careers Expo, held on August 12th, 2025. This gave our team the opportunity to engage with students and community members to promote pathways to employment and skills development.
Engaging every voice – sparking interest and showcasing opportunities for all
Our booth was a hub of activity, sparking interest from every visitor. Students and community members discovered how Ashburton Aboriginal Corporation can support their journey into the workforce through engaging conversations, providing support with skill development and building confidence but also with the endless amount of networks and partnerships that AAC have with many businesses and organisations both local and regional.
Sparking future engagement – Showing Students What’s Possible Beyond their Knowledge
Students were genuinely intrigued by the wide range of opportunities offered through Ashburton Aboriginal Corporation. Many were surprised to learn about the support available – from job readiness programs and training pathways to mentoring and local employment connections. The booth drew plenty of attention, not just for the valuable information, but also for the exciting promotional items on offer. From our logo branded backpack, jam-packed with handy tools for everyday use including sun-safety items, to a fun and educational budgeting board game and other branded merchandise. A highlight of conversations were definitely the Learn2Drive program offered through Ashburton Aboriginal Corporation – free driving lessons which would be beneficial for students who are in early stages of acquiring their learners permit.

Our involvement with the TPSHS Careers Expo 2025 was definitely an experience to remember where we have networked as an organisation and created partnerships with local organisations and businesses that can be beneficial in building rapport in the community we serve.
