JOB DESCRIPTION:

Currently we are seeking a talented person to join the team in the position of Employer Engagement Officer (EEO). The EEO’s primary objective is to engage with local employers, businesses and other stakeholders to identify and source employment and work experience opportunities for our Job Seekers. The role involves being out on the road, building relationships with potential employers and providers of work experience, so you will require excellent communication and relationship building skills.

 

Ideally, we are looking for someone with some or all of the following attributes:

  • Relationship building with business, local government and industry groups
  • Demonstrated experience or capacity to work and engage with Aboriginal people (desirable)
  • Confident with outstanding communication skills
  • Results orientated person who can work to KPI’s and targets
  • Details orientated with an understanding of compliance
  • Excellent administrative skills
  • Ability to be adaptive, collaborative, flexible and innovating in problem solving as a contributing member of the wider team.
  • A capacity to contribute to inter-agency working groups for enhanced client-focused service delivery

 

The type of person we are looking for may well have done a similar role with a Jobactive provider or some other type of employment services organisation. You may well also have experience in employer engagement through local government, not for profit or an industry association. Most importantly though, it will be your ability to share our passion for helping people reach their potential in a consultative and respectful way, that will see you succeed as an EEO.

 

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

  • A strong work ethic
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with a range of people (both Indigenous & non-Indigenous) with competing needs.
  • A demonstrated capacity to achieve outcomes.
  • Excellent administrative skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills including communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to influence decision makers.
  • Excellent Personal presentation and grooming
  • Ability to administer and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Ability to be adaptive, collaborative, flexible and innovating in problem solving as a contributing member of the wider team.
  • Hold a current WA C Class drivers’ licence
  • Confidence to speak to groups and employers
  • Knowledge or ability to learn pathways to employment within various industries.
  • Able to pass Pre-employment medical and Drug & Alcohol.
  • Current police clearance or able to obtain one
  • Working with Children Check or able to obtain one
  • Able to commit Monday to Friday from 8am to 4pm
  • Must be fully vaccinated to apply

 

DESIRED CRITERIA:

  • Previous employment service counselling experience
  • Demonstrated experience or capacity to work and engage with Aboriginal people
  • An understanding of the cultural, political, economic and social issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in contemporary Australian society.
  • Experience in working for Not-for-profit organisational framework.
