- Welcome guests upon arrival, ensuring high quality customer service during their stay
- Work closely with hostel staff to accommodate guests’ needs
- Ensure a high level of customer service is provided to AHL residents at all times, including attending to resident requests in a professional and courteous manner
- Quality and nutritionally appropriate catering and meal servicesEfficient, responsive and friendly service
- Clean, culturally safe, fit-for purpose kitchen and dining areas

- Plan menus weekly
- Ensure menus comply with AHL policy, and Dietary Guidance for the Hostel
- Ensure healthy meals are provided – eg based on recipes from Heart Foundation
- Menus are provided to the Manager a week in advance
- Menus are detailed and costed to meet budget requirements
- Lunch and Dinner Menu items do not repeat during the weekMeal Preparation
- Prepare quality meals in accordance with approved menus, Food SafetyStandards and other relevant legislation
- Ensure that food expenditure does not exceed budget
- Healthy and nutritious meals are provided to residents at set meal times
- Sufficient food is prepared for residents

- Clean kitchen and dining rooms
- Wash kitchen equipment and crockery
- Clean other common rooms
- The kitchen and dining room and all equipment and crockery are cleaned and placed away aftereach service
- Meals are always served on crockery and NOT on plastic plates
- Stock Control & Food Ordering
- Order food and other supplies in line with approved menus
- Maintain equipment
- Manage food storage
- Food is ordered weekly in line with planned and approved menus
- Stock records are kept in line with AHL’s procedures
- No food is kept beyond its use by dates or stored at incorrect temperature at any time

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Drivers licence preferred not compulsory
- Able to pass Pre-employment medical and Drug & Alcohol
- Must have or able to obtain Working with Children Check
