About the Role
Ashburton Aboriginal Corporation (AAC) is seeking an experienced Community Programs Manager to lead the design, delivery, and evaluation of community-based projects across remote communities in the Pilbara. This hands-on role oversees multiple projects, supports local teams, and ensures culturally responsive service delivery aligned with community priorities and funding requirements. Regular travel to remote communities is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Driving the planning, delivery, and evaluation of community programs across multiple remote communities
  • Manage program budgets, reporting, and compliance requirements.
  • Mentor and support staff to ensure culturally safe, high-quality service delivery.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Aboriginal communities, leaders, government agencies, and stakeholders.
  • Ensure documentation of service activities in digital systems and maintain timely reporting.
  • Coordinate community engagement activities, including consultations and project-related meetings.
  • Travel regularly across communities to provide hands-on leadership.

About You

  • Demonstrated project management experience, ideally in community development or remote service delivery.
  • Strong understanding of working respectfully and effectively in remote Aboriginal communities.
  • Experience supervising or mentoring teams in dispersed or remote locations.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and relationship‑building skills.
  • Strong organisational, budgeting and reporting capabilities.
  • Previous experience or understanding of Employment Services would be beneficial, but not essential.
  • Willingness to travel extensively throughout the Pilbara.
