Bloodwood Tree Association is an incorporated not-for-profit Aboriginal organisation based in South Hedland. Bloodwood Tree provides services for the homeless, unemployed, those affected by alcohol and drug use, and people in need. A full-time vacancy exists for a Hedland Aboriginal Home Ownership Program Coordinator to join our current team working, Monday – Friday, from our South Hedland based office.

Duties that are required:

Supporting and assisting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people based in Hedland, who aspire and have the capacity to move towards home ownership. Assisting clients who want to work towards home ownership with support, referrals to relevant services and agencies, mentoring and support to encourage and achieve goals on the path towards home ownership, as part of the Hedland Aboriginal Home Ownership Program.

Following essential skills are required:

  • Knowledge of the process involved in purchasing a residential property.
  • Knowledge in local support services available for Aboriginal people locally.
  • Administrative skills, ability to enter data and provide update reports.
  • Able to work in a small team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Administrative and organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and work with minimum supervision.
  • The ability to work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with clients, local business, and other community organisations.
  • Working knowledge of up-to-date computer systems, including Microsoft office applications.
  • Willingness to obtain National Police Certificate, Working with Children’s, and Senior First Aid.
  • WA ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence.
